2601 Dr. Lionel M. Yoe October 25, 1918- October 4, 2007

COLUMBUS, GA - Dr. Lionel M. Yoe, age 88, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 04, 2007, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary's Macon Road Chapel with a private burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Members of the Muscogee County Medical Society and the Muscogee Lions Club will be honorary pallbearers.

Dr. Yoe was born October 25, 1918 in Talladega, AL the son of Dr. Alphus Omega and Annie Lucille Curry Yoe. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1939. Dr. Yoe served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. After his military service, Dr. Yoe graduated from Emory University and the Medical College of Georgia. He had lived in Columbus since 1955 where he practiced ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery until he retired in 2006. He was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Yoe was a Mason, and a member of the Muscogee County Medical Society, the Muscogee Lions Club, and St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Elizabeth Joan DeWitt Yoe of Columbus; a daughter, Julie Annette Stenger and her husband, Ron, of Duluth; 3 sons, Lionel Meredith Yoe, Jr. of Atlanta, William Thomas Yoe and his wife, Vicki, of Columbus; and Robert Stanley Yoe of Powder Springs; 5 grandchildren, Robert Asa Yoe, Virginia Elizabeth Driver, Jennifer LeAn Yoe, Russell Morris Yoe, and Alexandra Leigh Stenger; a brother, Dr. Alphus Omega Yoe, Jr. of Talladega, AL; and a sister, Etna Evelyn Lawrence of Cedartown.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity in memory of Dr. Yoe.

2605 Bruce O. Yorgey, age 81, of Fayetteville, went Home to be with his Savior at Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Born the youngest of five children on December 16, 1929, he was a son of the late John E. and Ruth A. Reber Yorgey.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Finch Yorgey; three children, Cheryl L. Anderson (and husband, Bruce) of Fayetteville, Kirk W. Yorgey (and wife, Lisa) of Cape Coral, FL, and Sandra K. Dependahl (and husband, Richard) of Perry Hall, MD; two brothers, John, of Reading, and James, of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Wallace Yorgey, his sister, Eleanor Koch, and his brother, Richard.

After graduating from Reading High School in 1947, Bruce attended Emmaus Bible School in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954. Following his military service, he worked in the family's dry-cleaning business in both the Lancaster and Reading areas. Bruce loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his Savior. He served for many years as an elder at Monterey Chapel, Lancaster County. Until his death he served as an elder at Greenwood Hills Assembly in Fayetteville, PA. He had great joy in sharing his love for the Lord with all whom he came in contact.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with Mr. Keith Keyser officiating. Interment will follow in Quincy Cemetery. There will be no viewing; however the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Greenwood Hills Assembly, 7062 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, PA 17222. Mary Young Stokes, 84, of Gretna, La., died Sept. 4, 2007, at her residence. Visitation was 10 a.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb, until services there at 1 p.m. Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Mrs. Stokes was born June 22, 1923, in Battle Creek, Mich. She was the daughter of Leonard T. and Iris Glas Young. Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Stokes.

Survivors include one son, Terry C. Stokes Sr. and his wife Mary; one sister, Sue Young; grandchildren Theresa Becnel and her daughter Lauren, Julie Stokes-Soniat du Fossat and husband Jean- Claude, Terry C. Stokes Jr. and wife Heidi and their daughter Hannah.

Scottdale, Louis Michael Yuhouse, Sr., age 77 of Scottdale, PA, died Wednesday (6/4/14) at his home.

Mr. Yuhouse was born September 8, 1936 in Carpentertown, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Rosalie Seich Yuhasz. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish. Louis attended the former Hurst High School, and completed his GED in the 1980's.He worked for 26 years for the former Modulas Corporation and then went to work for the DCI Corporation of Murrysville where he retired from in 2002. Louis was an avid outdoorsman and gardener, and enjoyed helping his children remodel their homes. He also helped to remodel many properties in the Scottdale and Uniontown area. He was a member of the Slovak American Club of Hecla.

Louis is survived by his loving family: his wife of 58 years, Virginia A. Hood Yuhouse, his beloved children; Louis M. Yuhouse, Jr. and his wife Judy of Scottdale, Donald Yuhouse and his wife Kimberlee of North Huntingdon, Ronald Yuhouse of Scottdale, Doug R. Yuhouse and his wife Meghan of Bullskin Township, Julia R. Jones and her husband Thomas of Acme, and Richard "Rick" Ulery and his wife Ann of Norwalk, OH. He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren: Tobias Yuhouse and Casey, April Rowan and Brian, Leah Govi and Jordan, Alexandra Yuhouse and Zach, Aaron Yuhouse, Jillian Zarnick and Bruce, Evan Yuhouse, and by his great grandchildren; Madysen, Maddox, Waylon, Gwendolyn, and Mikaila. He was also anxiously awaiting the birth of another grandchild and a great grandchild. Louis is also survived by his brothers: Andrew Yuhouse of Mt. Pleasant, Albert Yuhouse of Bullskin Township, Steve Yuhouse of Youngwood, and Julius Yuhouse of Hunker. In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and John Yuhouse, and by his sisters, Margaret Yuhouse and Ethel Hileman.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Louis will be held Saturday at 12:30 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel L. Blout officiating.

2612 Victor "Dutch" F. Zemanski, 88, of Broadford Road, Everson, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born March 4, 1912, in Everson, a son of the late Simon and Salamonea Bajger Zemanski. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. He was a retired crane operator with U.S. Steel, Homestead Works with 32 years service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II with Co. H 307th Infantry 77th Division as a heavy machine gunner. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal for shrapnel wounds received in Leyte Dec. 19, 1944, from enemy fire. He also received the Expert and Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, two Bronze Battle Stars attaining the rank of private. He was a member of the Everson V.F.W. Post and an avid hunter. He is survived by wife, Pearl A. Backes Magaritz Zemanski; two stepsons, Peter Robert Magaritz and his wife, Maureen, of East McKeesport and Franklin A. Magaritz of Everson; five stepgrandchildren; four sisters, Stephanie Fabiszewski of Elsworth, Ann Nyzc of Ford City, Veronica "Vern" Fedorek and her husband, Jack, of Everson, Cecilia P. Pisula of Everson and brother, Frank "Happy" P. Ziemianski of Scottdale; and his extended family, Cathy Fedorek Greenawalt and her husband, Frank, and their children of Scottdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, Paul and Leo and sister, Josephine McGivern. Friends will be received in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by his funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph RC Church, Everson. Age 71, of Elton, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born May 7, 1937 in North Braddock, daughter of the late John and Ann (Milanovich) Zoretich; she is survived by her husband of 52 years George R. Egnatz; loving mother of Richard (Cherrine Massey) Egnatz, Minneola, FL and Suzi Jo (Paul) Heter, Harrisburg, PA; dear grandmother of Alek and Caitlyn Heter; sister of Mildred "Dolly" Simko, Marilyn "Midge" Marra and the late Dolores "Dory" Nixdorf and John M. Zoretich Jr..

The inscription in her high school yearbook reads: Pleasant disposition, sharp at wit, with all her classmates she's a hit. She maintained that pleasant disposition and sharp wit throughout her life and gathered many friends along the way. Well loved by family and friends her most treasured times were spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.
