    • Jennifer Jean Eno Martin, 68, passed away at her home in Atlanta on July 9 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

      She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, but grew up in Swainsboro. She was a 1964 graduate of Swainsboro High School and held degrees from Georgia Southern College, Kansas State University, and Georgia State University. She and R. Daniel 'Danny' Martin of Pierce County were married in Ludowici in 1981.

      Jennifer was the mother of two daughters, Sally Simmons of Buford and Amy Holbrook of Covington, and 'Granny' to Donovan Shane Holbrook and William Daniel Holbrook.

      She is survived by her husband, her daughters, her grandsons, a brother Greg Eno of Barrow County and many nieces, nephews, and cousins from one coast to the other.

      Jennifer was an English teacher and special educator in Long, Muscogee, Rockdale, Newton, and Gwinnett counties and retired in 2009 after 20 years as an elementary school counselor in Walton and Gwinnett Counties. She was named county and district Elementary Counselor of the Year in 1996 and Gwinnett Counselor Writer of the Year in 1994 and 2007. She was a member of Alcovy United Methodist Church of Covington where her husband was previously pastor and later minister of music. Her favorite activities were attending Georgia Tech sporting events and traveling. She traveled to all the states but one and to over 100 foreign countries. She had set foot on six continents and was scheduled to make it all seven by going to Antarctica this coming November.

      Her "Going Home Celebration" will be held at Alcovy United Methodist Church on Sunday July12 at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will be served by the members of the church from 12:00 to 2:00.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Damascus Road Recovery Project of Alcovy UMC, 12521 Alcovy Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014. J.C.
