    • Emma Mae Gualtiere of Carol Stream

      A memorial service for Emma Mae Gualtiere, 89, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, formerly of Beverly, South Holland and Fort Wayne, Ind., will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, at Naperville Evangelical Free Church, Hobson and College, Naperville.

      Born Oct. 13, 1912, in New Albany, Ind., the daughter of Elmer and Lily Disz, she died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park. Interment will be private in Mount Hope Cemetery.

      Mrs. Gualtiere was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She was fluent in sign language and worked with deaf children in South Holland and Fort Wayne.

      Emma is survived by her children, Jim (Janis) Gaultiere of Barrington Hills, Janet (Bill) Ross of Fort Wayne and Jean (David) Field of Naperville; sisters, Josephine Allen and Isabel Hayes; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gualtiere; and her brothers, Thomas Disz and Junior Disz.

      Memorials may be directed to Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park or Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
