      Mildred O'Brien
      OLYMPIA, Wash. - Memorial services for Mildred Bessner O'Brien will be at 11 a.m. today in Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington, Wash. Burial will be private. O'Brien died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at her residence. She attended Rexville School and Mount Vernon High School. She attended the University of Washington and graduated from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Seattle. She pursued a nursing career in private practice in Seattle. An active volunteer in Olympia, she chaired the Penny Drive for the Children's Orthopedic Hospital for many years. She was a longtime member of American Legion Auxiliary, and was a leader in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was the widow of Paul Morgan O'Brien.

      Survivors include her children Jay Patrick O'Brien of Edmonds, Wash., and Colleen O'Brien Nunn of Atlanta ; sister Mabel Bessner Reedy of Fir Island, Wash.; and grandchildren Michelle Nunn, Brian Nunn, Michael O'Brien, Colleen O'Brien Miller and Kathleen O'Brien.

      Memorials may be made to Skagit County Historical Museum, P.O. Box 818, LaConner, Wash. 98257, or Hands on Atlanta, 1605 Peachtree, Atlanta, Ga. 30309.
