      Hi Mike,
We have never met, but your email came up as I was following some family history search of my own. A couple of connections you may find interesting for your Martin Family records:

James Trenholm Armstrong, son of James M and Mattie J (Tucker) Armstrong was my grandfather, William H Armstrong’s brother. He went by the name Trenholm and was a pharmacist.

Trenholm's and Will's grandmother, Emily Julia Tucker, was born Emily J Trenholm on St. Helena Island, SC, 21 August, 1840. Her uncle, i believe, was George A Trenholm of Charleston who was the 2d Secty of the Treasury for the Confederacy. According to E Lee Spence, who discovered the Confederate submarine Hunley, Geo Trenholm was also the blockade runner on whom the character of Rhett Butler is based in Gone With the Wind. see www.shipwrecks.com

      Hope this helps. Sincerely,

      Lewis Hinely, Jr.
      Evans, GA
