Mrs. White passed away on Tuesday, April 06, 2010. -Willie Mae was born on March 10, 1915, to the late Eva Florence Mock of Early Branch, SC and the late Turner Mock of Screven County. The Mocks made their home in Screven County.

Willie Mae and Samuel Jeffers, who worked with the Department of Transportation in Putnam County, were married on August 19, 1933 and had five children. Mr. Jeffers died on their twentieth wedding anniversary. Two years later, Willie Mae met and married Tom Cauthen and had a son. They were married for twenty-two years. After Mr. Cauthen's death, Mrs. Cauthen married a dear family friend and widower, Carlton White who had three grown children.Willie Mae and Carlton considered the terms step-children and half brothers and sisters unacceptable in their vocabulary. The blended family thought of themselves as one.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: T.E. Mock, Lee Holmes Mock, Cliff Mock and four sisters: Dorothy M. Smith, Effie M. Smith, Annie M. Beasley and Eva Lee Mock; four children: Lenton Jeffers, Barbara Cauthen Butler, Sonny White and Mike White and a grandson, Danny Wallace, Jr.

Mrs. White is survived by three sons, Ralph (Nita) Jeffers, DeWayne (Kathryn) Jeffers and Tommy (Martena) Cauthen all of Dublin; four daughters, Juanita (Marvin) Wallace of Eatonton, Shirley (Wallace) Miller of Dublin, Charlotte Jeffers of Dublin and Sybil White Johnson of Millen; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Earlene (N.C.) Holland of Statesboro and Billie (John) Lee. Granny White, as she is affectionately known, is also survived by her treasured companion, a faithful little dog, named "Bear".

Mrs. White's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of her Sunday School Class.

Willie Mae will be remembered for her dedicated Christian service in W.M.U., Christmas Plays and Vacation Bible School Leadership Training with the Laurens County Baptist Association. She also had an active role in P.T.A. during her childrens' school years. She and Carlton served the Lord together with Bible Studies at local retirement homes. Her service continued as she entered the family of residents at Twelve Oaks.

The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. They may also be contacted at the home of DeWayne and Kathryn Jeffers, 325 Valambrosia Rd., Dublin.
