    • Mrs. Reba Jean Dixon, 84, died Thursday morning (March 6, 2014) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after an extended illness.

      She is a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. She graduated from Wacona School and was a member of Elbethel Church. Mrs. Dixon was formerly employed as an LPN for Memorial Hospital, Dr. Lewis and 16 years at Baptist Village. She also volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Satilla Regional Medical Center for 5 years.

      She is the daughter of the late D. S. Christmas and Sally Yates Christmas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanton Winfred Dixon; and one brother, J. T. Christmas.

      Survivors include two sons, Jack A. Dixon (wife Janice) of Blackshear, and Gary Stanton Dixon (wife Jeanie) of Waycross; three grandchildren, Alan Dixon (Kari), Shelley Erdmier (Kevin) and Amber Walker (Derik); 7 great grandchildren, Madisen, Holly and Dillon Dixon, Ashleigh and Ryan Erdmier, Reese and Lily Kate Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

      A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (March 9, 2014) at Elbethel Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

      The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Music Funeral Home. Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com
