    • James Edward Waller, Sr., 80, passed away at his residence on October 18, 2008.

      He is survived by his loving wife Winnie Gleason Waller; sons, James Waller Jr. of Perry, Robert Waller(LaNell) of Warner Robins, William R. Waller and wife Jackie of Macon, Timothy D. Waller (Kristi) of Bonaire; daughter, Nancy E. Deutscher (Andy) of Alpharetta and sister, Patsy Rawls of Warner Robins.

      James spent his time on Earth serving his family, his country and his fellow man. He served in the Navy in World War II and for 30 years as a Civil Servant to the United States Air Force at Robins Air Force Base where he specialized in electronics. He was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees. After he retired, he spent most of his time as a volunteer for the Putnam Christian Outreach in Putnam County. He as an active and devoted member of Christ Our King and Savior Church in Greensboro. He will be missed by all of his affectionate friends who often referred to him as the "Mayor of Flat Rock."

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for Christ Our Savior Church Building Fund, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Georgia 30642, Putnam Christian Outreach, 151 Industrial Blvd., Eatonton, Georgia 31024 or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., Seventh Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001.

      Visitation was held Monday, October 20, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, at Christ Our King and Savior Church in Greensboro.
