    • David C. Homann, 47 of Cheyenne, Wyo., formerly of Devils Lake, ND died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004 in Glendo, Wyo., in a drowning accident.

      Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Scripture Reader will be Bob Borho. Gift Bearers will be Amanda and Jennifer Homann. Music will be provided by Patty Cote.

      Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 4 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be from 9-11 a.m. and at the church one hour prior to the Mass.

      Pallbearers will be Joe Burgess, Marc Pescion, James Nelson, Tom Stoe, Randy Crist and Al Schroeder.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Stavem, Dale Stavem, Kurt Stavem and Roger Schimmel.

      David Christ Homann was born Feb. 11, 1957 in Mohall, ND the son of Christ W. and Elinor R. (Stavem) Homann. At a young age, he moved with his family to Devils Lake where he attended school, graduating from Devils Lake Central High School in 1975. He also attended Lake Region Junior College for one and one half years. David worked for M & I Electric of Devils Lake, for several years while in high school and college and after college. On Jan. 2, 1977 he moved to Cheyenne, Wyo., and worked for Montgomery Ward and later for Associates Loan Agency. In December of 1982, David returned to Devils Lake and was employed by Nelson's M & I Electric and Lake Region Credit Union.

      On March 10, 1984, David was united in marriage to Marla (Borho) Luehring in Devils Lake where they established their home. In September of 1990, David moved back to Cheyenne where he has continued to make his home through the years. He worked for a time at Key Bank Corporation and for the past 10 years has worked at Pony X-Press Printing.

      David was a member of the Lake Region Snowmobile Club and the Cheyenne Jaycee's.

      David is survived by his mother, Elinor of Devils Lake; daughters, Amanda and Jennifer Homann, both of Devils Lake; sisters, Debi (Corey) Halvorson, of Tolna, ND and Diane Poitra of Cando, ND; nephew, David Poitra Jr., also of Cando; and fianc/, Eileen Walsh, Cheyenne.

      He was preceded in death by his father, Christ and grandparents, William and Ora Homann and Oliver and Alma Stavem.

      Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
