    Chuck and Scott,
More information I found in the Knott family history in Crisp County in Stories and Pictures.
James Alfred Knott was born in 1896 and died Nov. 17, 1976. He taught school at Cedar Creek (a private school in Crisp County) prior to entering service at the beginning of World War 1. At the end of the war, he moved to Macon, Georgia where became associated with the Georgia Alabama Business College of Macon. He later owned the school. After World War ll the school trained many veterans under the G. I. Bill. There are many people living in this area who attended the school. It has been said that anyone who really wanted to attend his school was never turned away because of money. He would always find a way for them to attend. James Alfred Knott married Emily Dozier of Albany, Georgia. They had two children James Alfred Knott, Jr. who in the Navy and is now stationed in California: Jean Knott who married Maynard Polythress, and is now living in Louisville, Kentucky. They have two children: John Poythress, lll and Leigh Poythress.
