    • Nicholas Robert Calabrese, 67, of Gainesville, GA died on June 23, 2010 at Northside Hospital Forsyth.

      Born in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Nicholas and Lena Calabrese. Nick served in the US Navy and was an original crew member (Plank Owner) of the USS Enterprise serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. During his working life, he was a railroad engineer, restaurant owner and a man who loved to cook.

      He is survived by his beloved wife, Winnie Calabrese of Gainesville, GA; sons, Nicholas Joseph (Rachel) Calabrese of Jefferson, GA and Jason Alexander Calabrese of Ellicottville, NY; sisters, Lucille (Gene) Watford of Lake Wells, FL, Sara (Glenn) Stoltman of Lancaster, NY and Carol (T.J. Worthington) Calabrese of Kansas City, MO; brother, Donald (Cheryl Rupe) Calabrese of Lancaster, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Nicholas, Maxwell, Madeline and Alexander; and sister-in-law, Karen Calabrese of Orchard Park, NY.

      A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Jesuit Retreat at Ignatius House. Interment will follow at 10:00 am on July 1, 2010 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. A Memorial Mass will also be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 9 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Buffalo, NY.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nick s memory to St. Jude Children s Research Hospital www.stjude.org or 800-805-5856).
